Wendy Williams show is canceled after 13 seasons, and Sherri Shepherd is taking her slot with her new show “Sherri” starting this fall. Of course Wendy is not happy about this, she blazed that trail and should have gone out in style, but her fans are even more unhappy that Sherri Shepherd used Wendy’s platform to announce her own new show. Whew, Chiiiillllleeeee!
Was it tacky of Sherri to make the announcement on Wendy’s platform?
Or was it the sensible thing to do since she Sherri is currently guest-hosting The Wendy Williams Show?
And will you be watching “Sherri”?

Love me some Sherri Shepherd and I’ll be watching to see what “Sherri” is about if I like, but I think the producers or decision makers of The Wendy Williams Show is making Sherri look really bad. First off, I agree with you that there should be a proper send off for Wendy after all she built that sh*t! But prior to that happening, Sherri should not be making any new show announcement on Wendy’s show, PERIOD. I just think the way it’s being handled is super tacky!!!
I’m with you on this Briana, I don’t think Sherri is to be blamed for this and I’ll be watching her show but I do think the way it’s being handled is making her look really bad.
Tacky as hell Briana, and I know Sherri will do a great job hosting her show, but they shoulda done right by Wendy. Wendy was not ready to let go – even though her health was telling her to, and she did not want to do what they want and co-operate to end her show which is very understandable, but they should have found a way to have a proper send off. Something!!!
I wish Wendy had resigned when she started having issues back in 2019 before her health deteriorate like this. Back when she found out her cheating husband Kevin Hunter was actually having a baby with the same woman Sharina Hudson who he cheated with – for years, and Wendy couldn’t take it. Then she lost her mom, then she got CVax breakthrough on top of her diagnosed grave disease and it all just became insurmountable. Now the show producers, owners or whatever totally disregarding her and treating her like crap while transferring her hard-earned legacy to Sherri Shepherd. Not liking this at all and I can only imagine how Wendy feel about all this right now. So sad!
Tacky exit indeed Jessica! Planning her exit and taking it then would have been so much better, but I’m sure she didn’t see this coming.
I’m happy for Sherri getting this huge break especially at her age but even if Wendy wasn’t coming back to host her show, they should do a proper goodbye and make a better announcement. As it is now, it’s not looking good but unfortunately for Wendy and fortunately for Sherri most people will soon forget about this grave injustice to Wendy.
Ain’t this the truth! A year from now this will all be a blur.
I know they would have to change the name if Sherri was going to be permanent because there’s no way you can have a Wendy William’s Show continuously hosted by someone else, but I too wish Wendy got a proper exit. With all the work she put in to make her show what it is, that’s the least they could have done.
Oh yes, for sure Katherine! It was inevitable and unsustainable to have Sherri take over The Wendy Williams Show and continue to host it long-term and not change the name, but again do right by Wendy.
