While Wendy Williams was out here recovering and letting us know she would be back on her show, The Wendy Williams Show abruptly ended this past Friday and Wendy was not invited to be a part of it. Of course, she wasn’t invited because she clearly made it known that she wants her show back, which means she wouldn’t have gone anyway. However, they should have attempted to make her a part of the finale, because Wendy deserves one last moment on the show she MADE, to tell her story and say her final goodbyes.
Now they’re throwing out her memorabilia in the trash like she wasn’t an icon who deserves to decide what happens to her valuable and valued stuff. And this is after they have discarded her years of work by scrubbing the internet including Youtube – and deleting all of her past shows.
Media personality and friend to Wendy spoke his mind on how he feels about the way they handled ending The Wendy Williams Show. He said, “Talking to WW made me sad yesterday. I didn’t know what I was going to post but DEBMAR MERCURY is trash. I will never work with those people nor will I support any of their shows. And neither should you.”
Even Wendy’s ex-husband Kevin Hunter chimed in, “I feel like it is a travesty on the part of Debmar-Mercury to have such an unceremonious departure without Wendy being involved. It is the first time in the history of talk shows for this to be done, especially for a show that has been on for more than 10 years. There is absolutely no reason why a bigger celebration that involved Wendy couldn’t happen.”
Wendy Williams definitely deserved better!

Jah know, I ain’t never seen anything like this before. Who have they ever treated like this? After 13 seasons with a show that she built? This is wrong on so many levels but I guess all the heads are just as compromised and so none of them can see that what they’re doing is wrong. Shout out to Jason Lee for speaking up for Wendy and enlightening creators to own their own shit. This entire hollywood/entertainment/music industry is a beast.
You’re so right Briana! This could have and should have happened a different way. That’s the least they could have done considering she spent damn near all her life building up that show and fattening their pockets.
I’m so sad for Wendy it’s not even funny. This what Michael Jackson and so many others been saying for years. The machine behind the entertainment is brutal and greedy and if not for the brave ones telling us we would never know cause all we see is the entertainers giving us great music, shows, etc. Sad AF!
No surprise! They only value money and how much a person can bring them, not the person and if an artist for example try to own their Masters or they own shit then they sabotage them like they doing Tory Lanez now using Meagan or mvrder them like they did MJ. Cold callous people behind these industries.
Wendy Williams is too iconic for this shit to be happening to her, and it’s always funny how none of the people involved in a scheme can say no, this is wrong! Let’s not do it that way or let’s not do this. I’m losing faith in humanity man! So many things is just so wrong.
I really don’t want to hear what that Kevin Hunter has to say cause I guarantee you if he didn’t kickstart that machine of fucking Wendy over, Wendy would be in a better place today. He need to go sit somewhere and be quiet. That said, I didn’t know they would have handled Wendy’s departure like this, this is not how I envisioned an icon like Wendy Williams departure to be. Now I get it though, they build up people to take them down once they no longer serve their monetary purpose, and they still benefitting off Wendy’s name. Good God Almighty!!! And did you hear that she is not even in control of her money that she earned? That’s why she crumbling, it’s just too much!
I was hoping for a real sendoff for Wendy you know like having her on and letting her have her final moments in her chair and talking directly to her fans like she use to do you know, but I guess it’s because she wasn’t ready to go and they wanted her to so it’s not an amicable departure.
